Our science fair will be held in April Fourth graders are required to do a project which consists of an experiment using the scientific method. More information will be added to this page when the date is finalized.
This is to be a fun learning experience that will require a lot of time and effort. Start the projects now, so it won’t be made miserable by rushing to get it done.
2/22 Topic due
2/24 Problem (question), hypothesis, and material list due
2/24-4/9 Gather materials, begin investigation, collect data, and record results
4/9-4/17 Construct exhibit (Backboards may be purchased at craft stores. Poster board is NOT recommended)
Develop an oral presentation and practice answering questions students might ask
4/18 Bring project to school. Present to teacher and class
4/19 Open house display during Night of Excellence from 5-6 pm

No, volcanoes don’t work as a science fair project. I will explain why later, but it has to do with a testable question and conducting an experiment to test your question. A volcano is a demonstration and doesn’t fit the criteria.

You have to come up with a testable question (hypothesis). I will talk about the scientific method in February and it will become clear.

What are the things that you need for the final thing?I know that there is a hypothesis, question, materials, procedure, and results.Are there any others that I missed and what order do they go in?
